In an effort to lighten my load, I plan to give a load of books to the homeless I see out on the streets around town. I don't care what they do with the books, they can read them, sell them or throw them away, but I'm hoping they read, then sell.

Does anyone here have any ideas for refining this plan, anything to input regarding what I should do or change?

I got my inspiration for this idea from the Pavement Bookwork (CSMONITOR, clearnet link)

Leave SFW websites in the comments. What are some websites you know of? I've recently been listening to music on Jamendo.com quite a lot so that's my entry.

Wow, parts of China are inundated with blue in this image and the number of nodes in DPRK seems to have gone up.

You can find out more about the newish MVNO here: www.ecotalk.co.uk

"Mobile phones are an increasingly important part of our lives – and they have a big environmental impact that’s not really talked about. They don't use much power themselves, but the networks they rely upon really do.

We power all of your calls, texts and data with green energy from the wind and the sun. We do that by allocating green energy to cover the network use of all our customers.

We use something known as Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGOs) to verify where our energy comes from and how we allocate it – it’s an international system for identifying the source of green energy.

In the meantime, there’s not really a lot of information out there about the true extent of the mobile phone industry on our environment – so our mission is to find out more and publish it here."

June 5th, tiny Montenegro joined the evil empire.

Allied Foreign Ministers signed Montenegro's Accession Protocol in May 2016, after which all 28 national parliaments voted to ratify Montenegro's membership. A flag-raising ceremony for Montenegro will take place at NATO Headquarters on 7 June 2017.

Today marks NATO's first enlargement since 1 April 2009, when Albania and Croatia joined the Alliance.

An updated map of NATO territory with Montenegro included:

Zite takedown

A few years ago you'd always hear about the anonymity of Tor and by extension how difficult it would be to take down onion sites, alas, in the years since many websites have been taken down, especially drug markets. I think it'd be very interesting to see a concerted effort by an agency like the FBI attempt to take down a zite, and see once and for all whether they could actually succeed.
